Welcome to Year 4
Please visit Our Curriculum section of our website, where you will find our Class Overviews which detail what we will be learning this term.
In English, we write instructions to explain how we made a Roman mosaic. We read Roman myths and write character descriptions, retell the myths and change the endings. We choose interesting vocabulary from the Roman myths and words that we do not understand, using a dictionary to find out what the words might mean. We write diary entries as if we were a Roman child writing about their daily life.
In science, our topic is Animals including Humans. We begin the topic by labelling the inside of the human body and learn about our digestive system and those of some animals. We compare human and animal digestive systems and look for similarities and differences. We look at the types and functions of teeth as well as tooth decay.
In art, we improve our mastery of art and design techniques including drawing, painting, designing and sticking to create Roman mosaics.
